Introduction

Pigment Red 31 is a synthetic monoazo pigment belonging to the β-naphthol subclass, presenting a medium red shade that is slightly yellower and less bluish than Pigment Red 22. Boasting strong color strength and cost-effectiveness, it excels in printing inks while offering moderate application performance. With excellent light fastness and non-bleeding properties, it is resistant to hot water, soap, detergents, ethanol and other media, making it suitable for coloring rubber products, fabric printing and ink coloring. When used for coloring polystyrene and acrylic resins, it delivers a transparent red effect, ideal for products such as automobile taillights and signal lights, with heat resistance of 280℃ for 5 minutes and a light fastness rating of up to Grade 7. Historically, it has also been widely applied in offset inks, packaging inks, newspaper inks, as well as lower-grade paints and plastics where top durability is not required.
