On August 28, 2026, Fineland Chem held its August monthly sharing session, bringing colleagues together for an afternoon of celebration, recognition, and open discussion. As always, the session included plenty of fruit, snacks, and drinks, creating a relaxed atmosphere for everyone to take a break, connect with colleagues, and share ideas.
Celebrating August Birthdays
August is a special month for two members of our team, Isabel and Darren, who both celebrated their birthdays this month.
With a birthday cake prepared for the occasion, everyone took a moment to send their best wishes to Isabel and Darren. The simple celebration brought plenty of smiles and added a warm touch to the monthly gathering.

Beyond being an opportunity to celebrate birthdays, these moments are part of what makes our monthly sharing sessions enjoyable. They give colleagues a chance to connect outside of their everyday work and celebrate the people around them.
Recognizing Our Second-Quarter Sales Champion
The second part of the sharing session focused on recognizing outstanding performance during the second quarter.
For the second consecutive quarter, Isabel was named Fineland Chem’s top sales performer. After taking the top position in the first quarter, she continued her strong performance throughout Q2 and once again earned the quarterly sales champion award.
As a reward for her achievement, Isabel received a Sony headset.

Congratulations to Isabel on another excellent quarter! Her continued performance is a great example of maintaining momentum and striving for consistent results. We look forward to seeing what the next quarter brings.
How Is AI Changing Our Work and Daily Lives?
The final and perhaps most thought-provoking part of the session was an open discussion about artificial intelligence and how it is changing both our work and everyday lives.
AI has increasingly become part of many people’s daily routines. At work, colleagues discussed how AI can help improve efficiency in areas such as information organization, writing, translation, brainstorming, and handling repetitive tasks. Instead of spending time on some routine processes, people can use AI to assist with initial research or generate ideas, allowing more time to focus on tasks that require human judgment and decision-making.
The conversation became even more interesting when everyone started sharing how they use AI outside of work.
Some colleagues use AI to help their children with homework, while others ask AI for suggestions about how to communicate with or guide their children. This has made AI a practical tool not only for professional tasks but also for learning and family life.

There was also an amusing observation during the discussion: some female colleagues said they are more likely to chat with AI and even use it as a conversational companion, while the male colleagues tend to use AI more directly—usually asking it a question when they encounter a specific problem.
Of course, this was simply a humorous observation from our own discussion rather than a universal rule, but it certainly made the conversation more entertaining.
The Convenience of AI Comes with New Questions
While everyone recognized the convenience AI can bring, the discussion also touched on some potential concerns.
One of the most interesting points was whether relying too heavily on AI could make people less willing to think for themselves.
When answers, explanations, summaries, and solutions can be generated within seconds, it can be tempting to simply accept the result rather than spend time working through a problem independently. Over time, excessive reliance on AI could potentially make people less accustomed to deep thinking, problem-solving, and exploring questions on their own.
This led to an important takeaway from the discussion: AI can be a powerful tool, but how we use it matters.
Using AI to improve efficiency does not necessarily mean letting AI do all the thinking. The challenge is to find a balance between taking advantage of AI’s capabilities and maintaining our own ability to think, learn, question, and make decisions.
Another Month of Sharing and Learning
From birthday celebrations and recognizing outstanding performance to discussing the rapidly changing role of AI, the August sharing session covered a wide range of topics.

Like previous monthly sessions, this gathering was organized by a different colleague as host, with the snacks, fruit, and drinks prepared for everyone to enjoy. The rotating host format gives different team members the opportunity to organize the session and bring their own ideas to the activity.
More than simply taking a break from work, these monthly gatherings provide a space for colleagues to celebrate achievements, exchange perspectives, and learn from one another.
As AI continues to become a bigger part of both professional and personal life, perhaps the most valuable part of this month’s discussion was not finding a single answer about AI, but simply taking the time to think about how we want to use it.
