C5 Hydrocarbon Resin is a low-molecular-weight thermoplastic resin derived from the polymerization of C5 fraction, primarily consisting of aliphatic dienes and olefins from petroleum cracking. It appears as light-yellow to amber granules and is widely used as a tackifier due to its excellent compatibility with natural and synthetic rubbers, EVA, SIS, and other polymers. This resin is especially valued for its ability to enhance adhesion, cohesion, and processability in road marking paints, hot-melt adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, coatings, and inks.
With a softening point range between 87°C and 165°C, C5 hydrocarbon resin provides optimal viscosity for road marking paints, ensuring quick drying and strong performance under various environmental conditions. However, for customers purchasing during summer months or those who plan to store the resin for extended periods, it’s important to consider that prolonged shipping times or long-term storage without use may lead to clumping. To prevent this, we recommend fast delivery and prompt usage of the resin to maintain its ideal quality and functionality.
C5 – DuraPRS®6100 ⬇️TDS
C5 DuraPRS®6100 (light yellow thermoplastic resin) features a softening point of 98–105 °C, offers good adhesion, gloss, and compatibility, making it suitable for coatings, adhesives, inks, and also widely used in plastic modification and related applications.
